Melbourne 2016 - Eureka Skydeck

We went to Melbourne Central before heading to Eureka Skydeck. The T2 Australian teas are assorted with so many flavours I became undecided on which one to pick! It started all fine until we reached the Eureka Skydeck.

I have been to so many viewing towers and decks and this was probably one of the most terrible one. What's with the multi-coloured tinted windows?

Eureka means "I found it" and I found it irritating that in a stretch of glass panels I see two tinted tones; warm and cold. I am all for variety but when it comes to a great view, there should be nothing that compensates the quality of the view. I just could not make out the true colours from the panels. The blue sky did not look blue and the grass did not look green. Where's the consistency? For that kind of view, the entrance price is a rip off.

For an atrraction that claims "Eureka Skydeck 88 has awe inspiring views of Melbourne from the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere.", it is not exactly inspiring. I feel more inspired standing by the river that did not torture my eyes.

Even the open terrace was obscenely caged. This is 2016, open air sky terraces should be professionally barricaded with glass. Just look at Dubai's At The Top and Singapore's SkyPark. You enjoy the breeze and the view is simply unobstructed.

Is Eureka Skydeck as must-go place? Personally, it was an AUD20/- lesson I would never want to take again.
